With the exception of Figo and Ronaldo very few "galacticos" from the Premiership, La Liga or Serie A have reached the final. I think that this competition has come to soon for the "superstars" they are all knackered.
Yes, I have heard this mentioned as a reason for why the big footballing nations have all gone out early. The leagues their players are in are all so heavy that their players just aren't as fit as the smaller nations' players. Still, nice to see the small ones do well.
