Current information that I can tell you
Upgrades to the infrastructure are continuing for the increases - a lot of money is being spent.
Large resegmentations are being carried out to increase available bandwidth - this includes new cards that give 2 downstream & 8 upstream channels per card instead of the current 1d to 6u. (but any talk of higher upstream speeds is still just rumour
). These measures should help areas where there is currently congestion.
A lot of new fibre is having to be installed as well for these upgrades, which takes time.
Also, a load of new proxy (netapp caches) are going to be installed in all areas.
There is a lot more I would love to tell you, but it's still hush hush atm, so I can't reveal it.
Oh, and there is still no final date other than the current end of summer (or before if it's ready).
