They will give you a PID number and a password.
When you try to get on the web, you should be presented with a 'Computer provisioning log on screen'. If you don't get that, try typing
start.ntl
in the browser's address bar. then just follow the instructions on screen.
Ethernet is generally more stable and a teensy bit faster than USB (though the average user is unlikely to notice the speed), but if it's working fine as it is, then leave it.
