Add a new account using the wizard (Tools/Accounts - click Add/Mail)
At the "E-mail Server Names" window select HTTP and Hotmail as the provider - then add in the address and password.
Once you've done that Outlook (express) will take care of the rest - then if you want to save them permanently, just right click the mail in Outlook (express) and select "move to folder" and pick a folder in your "Local Folders".
Outlook or Outlook Express will certainly do the job, as long as you move them to a local folder out of the hotmail account folder you will always have a copy on your hard drive.
