just to correct you, some of the softest water in the country can be found in the Lancashire/Cumbria region. My brother lives in Cornwall and the water there is awful.
And even though I have to grit my teeth when I say this, North Yorkshire , Cornwall and Wales are some of the nicest parts of the country that you can see.
