But of course, unless we qualify for each major tournament (and end up failing to get past the quarter/semi finals year after year, each time coming out with new and better excuses such as "it was Beckham's fault" and "it was Southgate's fault" and the more recent "it was Seaman's fault") then we simply don't have the right to be proud, do we??
Still - Owen says England can do it this year (just like Becks said they could win it last time) so success is
