Re: [Merged] NTL Increasing BB Speeds

Pass the crack pipe, Steve. Both original and ex cwc areas have had digital TV since the late 90s.

Neil - where was it said ntl were planning speed upgrades before TW and copied it? I'm quite willing to applaud TW for being in the vanguard of high speed internet access in the UK, and am not surprised they got things done first, having a smaller network. Given the amount of work I *know* needs to be done and which you, I contend, don't, announcing a fairly vague period rather than an exact date is perfectly reasonable, particularly as it's likely to be a staged rollout.

In a perfect world I could do it with a snap of my fingers, but this isn't a perfect world. The other alternatives are not to announce anything (as tried in London) for which we get slated, to announce unreasonable timescales (for which we get slated, and rightly). Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

Or are you just cheesed off that you ditched ntl shortly before they increased broadband speeds? When are BT upgrading my 512k ADSL line to 750k for no extra fee? Am I thinking of getting a nice TW CM? You betcha.
