When I turned on the television this evening I got the message that the software had been "updated" (this is in Reading). I`m not sure what NTL have managed to do, but the EPG now runs so much more noticeably slower than it did before. When you step through the channels on the mini guide there is a noticeable delay between the channel name and the current programme being updated, then another delay before the next programme is updated. With the old EPG you could rattle through it at a rate of knots.
Is there any valid reason why NTL decided to arbitrarily redefine what button does what on the remote control? That is particularly annoying.
