strange... how frequently does it happen?
try running the computer in safe mode for a while and see if it still happens (hit f8 during bootup and chose safe mode with networking)
this should give a better indication of whether it is a software or hardware issue.
IIRC smartbridge is related to correct connect /bbmedic... according to google it is the worlds most popular freeware bridge game
