Right, A small update, and a bit of humble pie, Turns out my NIC had taken its last packet it will ever receive (DOH!), and was therefore not letting me connect to the internet, changed network card, and immediatly got connected, hehe, problem one solved.
Problem 2: that black brick, first I simply disconnected the nic from the net (after noting its MAC address

) and chucked it into my xbox, turned it on and......(wait for it) It didnt work, arf, so I tried power cycling, and it comes up with a error saying (cannot find DNS from the DHCP/PPPoE) so i put in the NTL dns, and it says it cant find the DHCP, not good.
Im starting to think that someone doesnt want me to use Xbox live or worse PAY ntl £5pm to get it working, EEK i pay enough as it is (£37.99 is acceptable, just, £42.99 um, isnt).
So before I get a hammer, NTL's nearest base address and a lot of alcohol, is there anything I can do? cheers in advance.
