No! I mean the issues directly affecting people. It's nothing to do with the tabloids, why assume that everyone is swayed by newspaper stories? In my area, a large complex has been built to temporarily house and process asylum seekers. We've got many elderly people in the area, who need similar facilities to live in and be cared for, but there's no money for that.

This doesn't mean I'm racist. This just means that I think we need to prioritise what funds we have, and somebody who has worked all their life and paid into the social services system should get at least equal access to the service.

What about the gangs of youths hanging around on street corners at night? This isn't a fabrication of the tabloids, it happens. Many people are in fear of what they might do, and in many cases they do cause trouble. The brand new glass bus shelters which are smashed weekly are testament to this. What's being done? Nothing. The Police seem more interested in catching speeding motorists.

The BNP is not the answer to these problems, but neither are the mainstream parties coming up with any real solutions. They need to get their act together, or extremist parties such as the BNP will grow. Isn't that similar to what happened in Germany between the two world wars? The people were disaffected by their mainstream parties, and they felt that they were being persecuted. A party came along, saying all the right things, and growing, but they were ignored by the mainstream parties as irrelevant. When they did recognise the threat, it was too late. We do not want that.
