The stories about Wenger saying Arsenal would go unbeaten were misquotes, especially the ones when it first hit the headlines. I've seen the interviews myself - Man U fans have been spreading tabloid myths without checking the facts
(I know it doesn't really matter now as the way people twisted the story has well and truely backfired)
