I was thinking about getting some form of kitchen worktop, sticking some rubber matting under it and whacking it on the top but I can only find worktops in 3 meter lengths and me and saw's just don't get on. I would buy a proper DJ desk affair but don't really want to part with over 300 quid.

Anyone have any ideas?
Almost any good woodyard/timber yard type outlet will cut to your exact specifactions, and probably deliver for a reasonable cost.

Most stock a range of worktop and mdf in various dimensions and would advise you on loadbearing etc.

One near me offers a joinery service - give them the idea they will make/fit it if you are not 'Mr Practical'
