yahoo and lycos are set to consolidate various aspects of the respective businesses in a cost cutting exercise.
yahoo is to transfer its web chat users to the lycos service, inturn lycos will use yahoo's messaging service in a 'service swap' though there are advertising and other ideas of which both are unwilling to comment on.
