I went with Pemââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s solution and the job was completed within seconds.
I ran Scan disk straight after and could not find any errors. Defrag was another matter, it took 3 ½ hrs to complete on a 10 gig hard drive.
Maybe I should have reformated, it would have saved alot of time.

was anything running when you tried to defrag ????????? , if it was then maybe that was why it took so long to do it
