think that what Russ is saying is that he can't understand why Sven has been so hyped up (sorry if I'm wrong Russ, but that's the way I'm reading it

At the end of the day, I think it boils down to the fact that, when Keegan started the World Cup campaign, England were absolutely woeful, and Sven has been credited (rightly or wrongly) with turning results around (again, purely in competitive matches).
