I was going to say that too....as most items are stored in your browser's cache, surely you are downloading that item, and that item is subject to copyright - so just by surfing you're in breach!

Of course this is an extreme, and I doubt even ntl would use that as an excuse to 'send in the boys' - imagine the headlines in the Sun!

Seriously though, I have a bit of problem with the diametrically opposed stance regarding copyrighted works:

You have the T&C's saying that they have the right to disconnect you if you break it. Then you have the 'cap' guidelines saying how much music and video content you're able to download in your 1gb allocation. Then the marketing that gives examples of why broadband is so good....downloading music etc.

Now of course there is music and there are videos out there that you can download quite legitimately with the owners consent - but the vast majority of downloading comes from unauthorised sources.

Of course ntl are merely protecting their own backs - should any of their customers get sued for file sharing, then ntl can quite easily say that they warned them, mitigating themselves from any blame - and I can't blame them for that.

But I do struggle with the fact that indirectly or otherwise they can be seen on occasions to encourge or at least condone the breach of people's copyrights.
