Hi

I've cancelled my NTL TV package but will be keeping 600k broadband, so will need to move from STB to cable modem. I connect through a Netgear FR114W firewall/router, which currently acts as DHCP client to the STB and NATs through to the PC. It spoofs my PC's MAC address. The PC runs XP.

NTL told me I'll need to register by running one of their CDs (presumably Broadjump). I'd rather avoid running this and don't want to connect direct to NTLWorld without using my firewall.

Can I use this method (or a variation of it) to set up my cable modem when it arrives or is this complicated by moving from the STB?
