It only did me good. Nothing bad came from it. It teaches a lot of discipline in a short time. Kids these days are undisciplined and vicious. Apply some strong, military-style discipline with corporal punishment and things would change.

I might have to agree with you Jerrek
my dad used to use a thin electric lead to beat me.
I also went to a 'boarding school' where the use of the cane was allowed - however it was not about pain - my dad wanted to hurt me - at school it was more like a ritual - I learnt more at school
