I don't see how I am being even remotely insulting. I'm just telling it like it is. It must satisfy someone to smack their child in the sense that they believe they have done a grand job in discipline. If there was no satisfaction then you wouldn't do it. I agree - I (and pem) have said that it is used as the very last resort !
