Sorted it now - SHAD0W'S BT client lets you set your IP address so that the tracker won't use the NTL proxy. Get it from here: http://www.shadow2k.org/downloads.php

Wonder why no-one has posted the answer to this before?? (on this forum or any other). People must have wondered why they weren't getting good speeds on BitTorrent/NTL before. Strange.
