Out of interest, have you actually tried speaking to them by calling the number?

Interested to know if the advice they give is still along the lines of, "Please avoid heavy use of the connection at peak times", rather than just the less specific keep to 1 gig a day total. The reality being if you stuck to 1 gig but did it all in the peak mid evening period this would not assist other users in your area at all.

This "time-shifting" of bandwidth use was suggested would be the advice when the cap was first put in place as the contention problems only applied at peak times (in those areas where heavy use was a problem at all) and not 24/7 anywhere.

Reason for the interest is that if that advice still applies they will be establishing our favoured option of excluding off-peak use by "custom and practice" and the argument for adopting it more formally would then be far easier.
