Mine are not used, all sound is routed into the TV and then out to the SS Amp. The Audio Out on the TV is independent of the TV amp and volume. This ensures the viewed source is the same as the audio source. In this set up I only use TV and DVD (6direct) as my two source selections on my AV amp. TV is for broadcast, cable, Playstation and VCR sources.
I'd have to agree with NTL on this one.
