But I think you should explain what it is that you are trying to achieve by this change, as you might be labouting under a misconception.

If you set a static address, it will only work for a short while, until NTL's systems notice and cut you off.
I am tesing a GUI for a Halo game server, I need to access ports 2402 & 2403 which I can do fine now with port forwading.

My problem it that the server can only see the internal IP of the routher 8x.xxx and not my ntl IP of 6x.xxx
So when people try to log in they can't because it appears they are trying to log on to the router :-/

I am aware of ntl's AUP on servers etc, but this is just a test to get it working, does the AUP cover multiplayer gaming?
