I've seen this kind of thing before. It is sometimes a graphics card/driver issue. Depending on the card/driver functionality I dare say you could tweak the driver settings on a per application basis and alter some of the directX settings when running that screen saver.
The easiest way out of course is to simply not use that particular screen saver
(or look for another one on the net that does more or less the same thing).
