Nope card goes in the client. Access point plugs into one of the two network cards you have in the pc. The other network card connects to the set top box via the cross over cable. The following will then hapen.

Your laptop is asked to bring up a web site. It transmits via radio to the access point. The access point then sends the request to network card no.1. The pc then routes then asks the set top box for the page via network card no.2 to the modem
