Zone Alarm has a habit of corrupting its database file. Sometimes deleting this file and allowing ZA to rebuild it can put the problem right. Download the newest version as well though
Don't know if the files locations are the same but in XP you do the following:

JV16 powertools is a tool that can check your registry for errors amongst other things.
