A bit of neutrality, fer cryin' out loud!

Is anyone else out there annoyed by Ntlworld 6 Nations rugby home page? Have I been mistakenly presuming all these years that NTL provide NATIONAL coverage throughout Britain (and Ireland?)?

It may come as a shock to the authors of this particular page to learn that there are actually quite a few rugby fans round about these parts who are united in the hope that "the boys" quite definitely do NOT deliver us (US??!!) a Grand Slam. They should try to remember that their "microsite" should be catering equally to Scots, Welsh, Irish and English fans of the game.

Oh and while I'm at it, the competition they're running is for tickets to the SCOTLAND vs England game, NOT England v Scotland - the game is at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, which last time I looked was still the home ground of the Scots.

An admirable dose of patriotism. :)

* Wonders if the location of an England - Scotland rugby match would make any difference to the result. :pp

Have to agree NormCash it is about time the UK "B", "C" & "D" teams had some recognition too.

Nothing like good old patriotic fever eh :¬)

I'm sure the anger, if any was directed at NTL (Neutrality Totally Lacking) it shouldn't be beyond the wit of man nor beast to proof read the site and factually check it for accuracy and impartiality.

BTW, these comments were made a Half Scot, Half Welsh, Geordie exile, now living down south.

I`m english and married to a scots girl and to say they are patriotic is an understatement. If it`s not sport that she goes on about it`ll be something else like she can`t get the right kind of sausage or bread "down here" as she says.
She`s a bit temperamental when it comes to this kind of stuff but I still love her, they all seem to be patriotic and it`s not a bad thing really. If only us english were as passionate.

Never watch Braveheart with her or you'll see the her true patriotism coming out, or is it too late.......FREEDOM!!!!!!!

Not so much anger as frustration. I'm sure you're aware that not everyone in Great Britain & Ireland are England supporters. After winning the World Cup, England's fans (quite rightly) have something to cheer about. However, the author(s) of that webpage could easily have put over a partizan attitude (assuming they're England fans) in a way that acknowledges the fact that a lot of us are actually hoping "The boys" get stuffed!

Rugby is done the opposite way round to football. The home team is listed second, so England vs Scotland would indeed be played at Murrayfield. It's also usually the home team that changes kit in the event of a clash.

Try being patriotic as an Englishman, and you get accused of being racist.....

If this is the case, Tristan, then why do NTL refer to next weekend's games in Paris and in Cardiff as France v Ireland and Wales v Scotland? Check out the fixture list on the official 6 Nations website. The standard convention used is ALWAYS Home Team v Away Team.
