Brownie points for me !

Hi All

My father in law is bending my ear and this may be a good time to get a few brownie points :D

He is using windows movie maker (yuk) to convert a video of a wedding to a vcd or an svcd. He only has a normal cdrw drive. He has edited the video and saved it as a .wmv file (the only option in movie maker) Windows movie maker will not see his cdrw drive and burn direct as its to old. I advised him to get a copy of tmpgenvv2 to try and convert but it does not seem to work. It wont see .wmv as a file that can be opened.

I now throw myself down on my knees and beg for your asistance :)

How can I take my father in law over the steps needed so he has a svcd or vcd that will play on any computer or standalone dvd drive.

The current video size after making the movie is 680mb. He has bags of free hdd space to convert - I know this as I had to fit the new hard drive at 7:00 last sunday

Please help me :banghead:

Thanks Guys

i am not 100% sure but check nero 6 to see if it can do it , you can certainly make vcd's with it , but im not sure about the .wmv bit :(

Cheers paul.

I am sure I can get it to work if I can convert the video into .mpg or .avi

You cant do anything with these poxy .wmv files :(

just found this , the only problem is if you aint got the program it means buying it , as if

right here we go , i have just made a .wmv file using windows mm2 , 10 seconds long captured from my webcam was 761k big , i used nero 6 to convert it into a vcd and it turned more than 4mb big     , so it will work but you are gonna run into serious size problems , i reckon you would need to split the source into 4 bits so it will fit on 700mb cd-r's , btw i played it through my dvd player fine , scary to see myself on the tv though     , oh and by the way you owe me a blank cd
