How long does ntl cache sites for
Anyone know how long NTL cache's websites for? Reason I've updated my site (not hosted my NTL) the updated site is correctly available via another ISP using the normal URL, but via NTL it still shows the old site. I guess that the original URL has been cached as putting a? After the URL brings up the updated pages without it the old page is shown?

Otherwise its just a matter of waiting. Different areas of the country may update faster than others, buit a different proxy is definately a reccomendation. You can find a list here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...trancache.html (Scroll down the page for the list) Full instructions there on how to put them into the browser HTH |

Re: How long does ntl cache sites for
try adding ?xyz at the end of the url (where xyz is a sequence of at least three random chatacters)
this will make the proxy think you are requesting a new page that it doesn't have cached |
Re: How long does ntl cache sites for
Changing a proxy will definately fix the problem and is very simple to do, I would go with that as a fix as apposed to trying other stuff that may or may not work...
Its a common query we have from web developers, and will vary depending on which proxy you are defaulted to go through so may not affect everyone the same, and possibly not all sites the same on the same proxy :/ HTH |
Re: How long does ntl cache sites for
If you use frames the browser sometimes loads the new frameset and old content. You can refresh the individual pages in a frame by right clicking on the page then SHIFT+(left)CLICK on REFRESH
