DVD backup. Password protecting ???

I use DVD to data up my data and files and wondered if it's possible to password protect the DVD so no one can read it rather then ensuring all the individual files has passwords ?

Many thanks.

if you are using 2k or xp you could use msbackup. You can password protect/encrpt the contents then...

Theres no actual way to password protect the CD, but like said above, you can encrypt/compress the files before burning them using programs like winzip and winrar and then you can only remove them from the compressed state if you know the password ... or have a program to break the password :/ (just a little warning about not being to reliant on this type of security)

There are normally options like Fastest(least compression), through to Slowest(most compression) and one of them will be storage...

The storage one is the best option for just putting a password on the files a it is almost instant and as your putting the files onto cd compression may not be needed

The files you refer to there will work ok in my experience, not sure how much they will compress tho if you choose one of those options.

Winzip and rar passwords are fairly easy to break..

Try the software on site - http://www.kryptel.com

Basic version is free (not for use in the US due to the des standard)
