The world's smallest Hard Drive

From http://www.betanews.com/article.php3?sid=1073638562

Toshiba have just developed the world's smallest HDD. It is 0.85inches in diameter and wieghs less than a third of an ounce. It will also store between 2 and 4 gig of data (with Toshiba working higher storage). It's not in production yet, but Toshiba are aiming to produce 200,000 or 300,000 of them by the end of the year.

Just imaging sticking that in your Phone, PDA or digital camera...

i believe the mini ipod and the new creative thingy are both using 1" mini hard drives.

If you think thats small take a look at this, http://popularmechanics.com/science/...mallest_motor/ its a working motor that is only a few hundred nanometers big. thats getting on for the size of gates on cpus !

I wouldnt mind one of those hard drives though :-)
