Charged for restricted service.

I had recently had my cable modem restricted (no use whatsoever) due to non payment of the bill.

Only to Find after 1 month of no srervice, I recieved a bill with the cable modem charged for fully.

I called the billing department and the muppet on the other end told me that you get chraged full price for having no Cable Modem service for a month, as the rental is still in place...what am i renting i asked??

and also stated well downgrade me to the cheapest service in that case!

I am absolutely appauled and am currently emailing someone hi in NTL....as i used to work there and have a good memory for email addresses...

Has anyone else had this problem...surely it's against the law to charge you for a service you have not had.

Thanks
The Cheese
