Can I still use my BT voyager 2100 ADSL Wireless?

I am switching to NTL from BT for broadband, now that NTL has finally sorted itself out!

I am getting the NTL box but it doesn't have a wireless capability.

Therefore I am going to need a wireless router os some sort that I connect to the NTL box.

I currently have a BT Voyager 2100 ADSL modem and wireless router built in.
Is it going to be possible for me to connect the BT box to the NTL box using an ethernet cable and use it as a wireless router (but no longer use the ADSL part of the BT box)?

You definately can't use the modem part of it so i think it's safe to assume you can't the router part, although i'm prepared for someone to come along and say otherwise. :)

If i was you i'd go and buy a Linksys WRT54GS. :tu:

thanks for the reply

I'll have a play with it but as you say it may well not be possible.
(If anyone knows different then please say!)
But worth experimenting for a bit before I splash out on a router.
I can use ethernet for a day or so if I can't get the wireless working straight away.

I'll update this thread when I find out....

s0n0 afaraid it won't work. But you can pick up wireless routers from ebay pretty cheap, or even down the highstreet for about £40. They will do the basics, encryption, firewall, direct connect etc - but don't expect anything too amazing ;)
