Channels Just went off ?
 

Hi

I was just watching itv2 when the picture froze so I changed channel and then back and then it showed the message about not being subscribed to this channel. Now I notice all my channels apart from the normal 1,2,3,4,5 and bbc news etc are all off. Even freeview channels like E4 and itv2 etc etc are off saying am not subscribed ? Any1 have any ideas why this may be ? seems to me maybe they have cut them off for some reason ? Any ideas welcome.

Yes have tried reboot and also removing and reinserting the smart card.

Ok daft question but are your bills up to date? If they are then maybe a call to the dreaded CS is needed

Yes everything is how is should be so I guess its gonna be a cs job. God I h8 having to call them to be told to do the same old standard tests etc etc . .

same sort of thing here 101 and 102 plus a few others arnt even on the channel rearage page any more

Yes, I lost 101 last night, but came back just in time (after a reboot) for Spooks. Bizarrely the box tuned into 102 okay, and 100, but denied all knowledge of 101's existence (I have a Tivo).

I had this exact same problem a couple of months ago, having been away for 3 weeks, with the box unplugged. Came home, plugged back in, turned on, etc, and could only get the basic channels.

Phoned CS, they got me to reboot, remove and replace the card, etc, (all of which I had already tried).

They looked at my account, couldn't see a problem, so they sent an update to the box, told me to turn it off and leave it for 1/2 hour or so, then turn it on.

I did that, and initially some of the channels were back, but still missing loads, so I left it another 1/2 hour and rebooted again, then they were all ok.

Not sure what it was, but sending the update (or 'hit' as its known) seemed to fix it.

The smartcard has info stored on it which tells it which channels you have permissions to watch. Sometimes the card loses this info. A 'hit' resends the entitlements from the Nagra conditional access system to the Nagra smartcard.
