Linksys Router Problems.
OK. I've got a computer that needs to be connected to the internet wireless. I've got a Linksys Wireless Router in May plus the network adaptor. £50 in PCWorld. It's the Speedbooster one. It's working in May and now doesn't work. I don't know what's wrong with it. The Router is working as I've got the internet on my Main PC powered from it but, trying to connect wireless is a pain. I search on the network adaptor software and you see it, connect and then "Internet cannot be found". I search again and I've lost it for about 4 hours. It's really starting to become a pain. Does anyone got any soultion to this problem?

Re: Linksys Router Problems.
It sounds like you are saying that a wired connection works fine but a wireless one doesn't. If so then try changing the wireless channel.
If you have something that will scan for wireless networks and report which channels they are using then all the better. Simply try an unused one. |

How do I change the wireless channel?

On one of the wired PC's visit http://192.168.1.1 default user/pass when asked is admin/admin (unless you changed it yourself)
Then proceed along to the "Wireless" tab heading near the top, then under "Basic Wireless Settings" you can change the channel. Try channel 1, see if that works, try channel 6, and finally channel 11. (then anything in between if they don't work) the channels i said are widely used, and don't cross over in terms of frequency, which makes them alot more stable. It may look something like the attached picture. |
