Non wireless or router network?

Hi all. I got a problem with ethrnet cables. My first PC(1) has a broadband connection to talktalk via USB to ADSL modem which is working fine. PC2 is wireless capable, but im trying to save cost by connecting PC1 tp PC2 via Ethernet. This works fine with a 5m Belkin cable. Problem is the 5m cable isnt long enough so ui puchased a 15m Belkin cable. Now both computers fail to detect any sort of LAN connection. :( Why is this? If anyone can help id be grateful! Cheers!:)

Hi and :welcome: to the forums.

Are you sure your cable is a patch cross over (X) cable and not straight ethernet ?
You need cross over cables for connection between two PC's.
