If you can wait till Late december/Early Jan the NTL PVR should launch so you will have a HDD recorder built in to your STB.

I've this this one. (I did cost £350 thou, but well worth it.)

It has guide + which has a cable from the unit to a magic eye that sit on top of the NTL STB, that will change channels for you, so you don't have to set the channels you want to video on the STB aswell the DVD/HDD unit does it for you

Try Panasonic 75 or 85 (sorry don't know the rest of the code). The 75 £249.99 as freeview built in and no HDD. The 85 £399.99 as HDD and freeview built in. I've got SONY. The pictures great. Only cost me 169.99, but I didn't want HDD.
