Re: internet security
Hi,
if you are going for pay programs you couldn't do better that Kaspersky Internet Security or Nod32.For me I stay clear of Norton because it's heavy going.Macafee is ok but Kaspersky or Nod32 are better. But it is a decision than is your choice. Take Your Pick, George. |
Re: internet security
Another vote here for Nod32. www.eset.com
Norton just drains resources. |
Re: internet security
I'm not a big fan of Norton..i find it a resource hungry monster that is really hard to uninstall completely.

Re: internet security
I've been using F-Secure for years on several computers without problems.

Re: internet security
For antivirus purposes I would recommend AVG. Its free (for home users, they charge for business) and provides regular updates.
For firewall, Zone Alarm is a good one (also free for the same reason) but personally I would use a router rather than a software firewall. http://free.grisoft.com Hope this helps |

I use Zone Alarm as well as a router because it gives me outbound protection, I like to know what's trying to get out as well as what's trying to get in. DW |

I would recommend Sunbelt's Kerio personal firewall and Avast antivirus. |

Re: internet security
Tricky question this may help if you fancy an av comparison read:
http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/comparatives.html If I had some cash, I would get Kaspersky suite it has one of the best detection rates, due to the signatures, and good heuristic detection, also its trojan detection rates are very good. Mainly because it recieves most of samples from here I believe: http://www.viruslist.com. It is fairly easy on resources too. If you want to go free then AVG, Avast, or Anti-vir (free one has no email scanner) are good also. Indeed the pay version of anti-vir is getting very good write-ups at the moment. |
