sweex wireless router lc000070 + NTL cable 250 issues
 

Hi,

this is driving me insane!
I have recently moved house and in donig so have signed up to NTL. its all fine and working well - when the cable modem is connected directly to my computer.

my girlfriend and i have to work at the same time so i bought a router.

sweex lc000070 wireless router 11g

i cannot get it to find the cable modem!
i can find the router from my computer, but i cant get online, im using the ethernet connection rather than the wireless.

has anyone had similar problems? or know how to solve this issue? ive read a few post in this forum but havent been able to solve the problem so far.

the sweex screen says the gateway is unreachable and all of the ports and ip addresses are set as 0.00.0.0 etc

ive been battling with it for two days solid and dont seem to be getting anywhere.

id really appriciate any help people could give.

you do have the modem connected to a wan port and not a lan?
have you power cycled the modem?

Power down computer, modem and router. Power cycle modem, then the router and finally the computer :)

hi,

thanks for the welcome and the 2 speedy replies! yeah i just tried that.
the cables are deffinately plugged in right.

am i power cycling correctly?
do i need to unplug everything from the modem? and reset the router? as well as cycling it?

once ive done that - ill try again in a sec - i go on to the modem page on my browser(192.168.123.254) and then haev to log in.

there is a wizard set up option but no option for NTL. am i right in selecting the manual setup? and then choosing dynamic isp?

does anyone know a complete step by step guide to doing this?

its infuriating as ive managed to set up adsl networks fine - but just cant get this to work!

hi guys,

thanks for your help,

i changed the mac address and it still didnt work, and then i enable the wan bridging, and that didnt work so i started again, and it allowed me to refresh the connection. which i did - and now its hunky dory!

and the wireless is working fine as well.
