USB data recovery?
My dad has a USB sitck which he copied data to the HD so he could adjust the size of a protected area on it.
After he copied the data to the HD he deleted the data from the USB stick, but it also erased the data from the HD. I had some free Software a few years back that allowed you to recover data from flash card. Does anybody know what this is called or where I can download software to try and recover the data thats been deleted. |

I've got Lexar Image Rescue, which came with my Lexar Compact Flash card. Don't know of any free ones but I could lend you a copy if you want...

http://www.ptdd.com It seems that you lost your files.:erm: Download the demo version to see whether it would help you. Download demo version: http://www.easeus.com/download.htm You can use "DeletedRecovery" to scan your drive. After the scan is complete, the lost file will be displayed in Data Recovery Wizard, you can select them and recover them. NOTICE: never install in on the harddisk you want to recover.:Yikes: |
Re: USB data recovery?

Re: USB data recovery?
Ok, I know this is an old bump, but.....
I've looked at the software above and, given the age of the thread and the fact that some of the links look like commercial software), I thought I'd ask the question again and hopefully get some new responses. Anybody got any suggestions for (preferably free) software for recovering files (some quite large) from a USB stick? The files have been deleted by the user by mistake. Thanks. |

Restoration : http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html , using the scan all clusters option from the others menu seems to be the most thorough. |
Re: USB data recovery?
If the files happen to be jpegs then RescuePro, that is available free with many Sandisk products, does a good job of recovering them.
http://www.sandisk.com/products/cata...rescuepro.aspx It was created by LC Technology who sell a range of file recovery programs. http://www.lc-tech.co.uk/software/software.html |

Re: USB data recovery?
Hi Rob M
I had wiped a 250GB drive & then remembered I wanted data off it lol. I use a few free programs off SnapFiles & got 85% of it back. Vids, MP3, JPgs & Text Files I used http://www.snapfiles.com/get/undeleteplus.html & other ones at http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/sy...arecovery.html |

Copies are often available for next to nothing on eBay. However, I'd avoid version 4 which is written in Java and takes an age. |
Re: USB data recovery?
I've used pcinspector before and whilst it does the job, I found it quite slow. I have since found Recuva, which works well and is fairly fast. This is Freeware.
