Router Firewall
 
Can someone tell me would i be looking for trouble if i was to only use my router firewall rather than that and a soft firewall eg tiny or another ?.

You could possibly end up with a virus/ trojan or spyware transmitting through your router as it is inbound protection only. A software firewall allows you to monitor and control outbound traffic. If you keep your system clean and scan daily then the risk is minimal.

I believe most people on this site would recommend a software firewall, as well as the hardware version on your router. This thread should explain why.

Hardware firewall stops stuff from coming in - Software firewall helps stop your computer sending stuff out, that you may not want (trojans, etc).

Not used a software firwall since the days of Zonealarm... When it actually worked properly. That was about 3 years ago, never had a problem since relying on hardware firewalls.

Still, it doesn't help to have that extra layer of protection!

Yes always use a software firewall with a hardware firewall.
