In certain areas on certain exchanges it is, in most areas there is probably going to be a delay before the exchanges are upgraded for the service.

you can check if it's on line at your local exchange by checking www.samknows.com

Easynet/Sky LLU has been enabled in 416 out of 5591 exchanges, so not long now, then, before everyone can get it.:dozey:

Snapperooni!

I would suspect that Sky are taking a slowly, slowly approach here.

I'm sure as hell getting it when it arrives, 10 quid for "upto" 16 Meg and uncapped downloads.

I mean, where do i sign up..

long contract, dynamic ip, ports closed, and a FUP. Subject to the usual long line = poor performance problem of adsl. Bear these points in mind before you start rushing over for the ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£ÃƒÆ ’‚£.

Ports closed? Dynamic Ip etc...

Where did you find all this out?

research :)

like the people who flocked to talktalk did no research and now realising their mistakes.

sky will be basically what ukonline currently offer, except they also added a new FUP as well.

in areas where they havent LLud the price will be higher and max speed will be 7.15mbit.

It might be worth keeping an eye on the newly set up Sky section over at Adslguide. It's only been set up for less than a week, but should give early indications as to if punters are happy or not.

Sky notified me that it will be available shortly in my area BUT...

I have tried in vain to find out about Sky's FUP in terms of the REAL download limit. I currently have NTL 1Mb and ukonline 8Mb via a Xincom dual WAN balancing router. I have a download cap on ADSL of 500GB/month (Yes you did read correctly, half a terabyte) but the total cost of these two services is around £48 per month. I hoped the Sky Max at £10 would cut costs, but their customer service would not give a figure, except that "100GB/month would exceed their FUP" I use on average 300GB so would not last long there.

I have also been searching this forum for a real figure on NTL's so called unlimited, but have not found anything concrete yet. They have not so far replied to email on the subject.

It looks like I will stay as I am, but I do wish all these ISP's with so called unlimited services would be up front and tell you their real download cap.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere on here that Sky is traffic shaped as well.

I thought ukonline dropped the 500 gig cap in favour of unlimited on its terms? ntl is unlimited so you would get 1 meg more for 34.99 unlimited yes you heard right no cap lol lol even if you had to pay full charge so I think you got the wrong deal lol and :welcome: to the forum :)

Re: is sky broadband avalible yet?

There is no mention of any cap on ukonline's website for their current packages, but I am reluctant to switch to NTL 10Mb + Sky free if I later found I was over-using NTL
