NTL Creamers
Hey folks,
I cancelled my NTL account at the beginning of june and they received their last payment at the end of June. But today I received a threatening letter from NTL requesting money they claim I owe them for phone calls made between July and August, even though I have been with a different phone provider during those dates. When I asked for an itemised bill to be sent to verify that these charges actually do exist I was informed that this would cost £4 as the bill had already been sent. I correctly informed the customer service agent that I had not received the bill and could they send this again without the £4 surcharge which in my honest opinion should be categorised as 'legal theft'. The agent rather ignorantly informed me that the bill would not be resent without a £4 charge and if I didnt pay the bill within 7 days it would be passed to a debt collection agency. He then proceeded to hang up. So now not only am I expected to pay for call charges that I am unable to verify, but in order to check that I do owe this money I must pay NTL a further £4. Now I have heard that NTL are in financial difficulties (do not know if this is true, considered asking NTL agent but was afraid of being charged a large sum for verification) but stiffling former and existing customers of a few pound eachtime with stelfth charges is ridiculous! Has anyone else been victimised by NTL in this way? |
Re: NTL Creamers
:welcome: to the forum. Although we are not part of NTL, we do maintain contacts within NTL. If you PM me your Name, Address, account number and a daytime contact phone number, I'll refer your case to them, so they can investigate what has happened.

Re: NTL Creamers
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for your speedy reply. I contacted NTL today to try and resolve this mess, and spoke to a helpful agent who is to resend the bill without any charge. Hopefully this will be the end of the matter. Thanks again. |
