Email Spam - Block a network - how?

Hi All,
I am receiveing a lot of SPAM from users on IP addresses such as:-

62.159.140.43
88.240.214.200
124.6.168.129

Which all appear according to a search to be on the RIPE network which i would simply like to block my server from recieving mail from.

My question is - is there any way i can block these either at the mail server (i use Dreamhost) or at the local machine?

Ta

DreamHost uses Spam Assassin, so you can enable this... it's something I've been meaning to do with my Dreamhost-based account but haven't got round to it yet.

There are some instructions on it here... http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/SpamAssasin

Bad news im afraid - it is on within the domain and its still getting through, in my experience Spam assasin is not bad - it catches a few things but a lot still gets through.

I just want to block the RIPE network assigned IP addresses from sending me mail.

Talking about spam, have you read the voicemail stuff about the guy getting spam over at Dreamhost's weblog..? [dreamhost.com] It's hilarious :D

you realise that RIPE are the european group that assigns out the ip addreses to organisations in europe right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_Internet_Registry

just cos they own the address, it doesnt mean its them producing them spam. block all the IPs in the RIPE database, cut yourself off from most of europe.

Try Spampal, its free and gets 99% of my spam. If spamassassin hasnt worked for you in the past, then you havent set it up right, I installed it at work and now spam is virtually non existant.

Its configured on the server by my Host, Dreamhost, so the chances of it being incorrectly configured are next to none.

Thanks for the info on the RIPE network though.

Im going to have to try SpamPal though - thanks! :tu:
(Cooo! 4000th post - how sad am i! :D )
