MAC OS on PC

Why not then?

When Apple introduced Intel onto the MAC platform the race was on to get XP booted on a MAC, but why no rush to get MAC OS on a PC?

After all, Apple users do harp on about how much better it is than XP so shouldnt we at least try it out, or do you not think that PC users wouldnt put up with a mouse than only has one button or treats you like a 4 year old?

Persoanlly, i'd like to give it a bash without having to fork out a fortune on a box which looks pretty.

So, is anyone aware of any program like the official Apple one which will let you boot Mac OS on a PC?

There is the link provided above but as has been said its ilegal. It also is fairly buggyed, unstable and every revision of OSX locks out previous hacks and requires a new hack. So its not going to work well.

Also as for the crap about one mouse (OSX supports a two click mouse fine, it has a right click menu the same as windows) and 'treats you like a four year old' which I guess means the fact that it just works (auto-connects to wireless networks, excellent plug and play support) so I am not exactly sure what your refering to there.

Mac OS has always remained on the mac. Its one of those things, Apple are unlikely to change it for a while. §

why would apple spend lots of time and money on making making their software work on the bajillion combinations of hardware possible on a PC, when they can sell you their own hardware at a big markup? ;)

Its not so hard to get it too work on all computers anymore. Windows XP is usually fine with this and problems caused by driver/hardware problems are minimal.

Its just part of Apple business model. A lot of money from the hardware goes back into the OS R&D. Effectivle OSX is the most expensive OS in the world because you pay a massive entry price for it when you get the computer (the markup you were talking about). Which makes every other version of OSX afterwards techincally a 'upgrade'.

Windows is similer, especially with the entry price the OS.

Bovinity be thy name,

I'm just debating if i should format my laptop and reinstall my operating systems but include osx86 inthat list rather than through vmware..

decisions decisions decisions.
