Cable NTL with a router

Hi

I was having trouble setting an edimax wireless router up with my ntl cable modem.

I plugged the ethernet cable from the cable modem into the appropriate port of the router, but couldnt fugure out the settings! Could anyone please help me! The router manual is here: http://www.edimax.com.tw/download/ma...R-6104KP_M.pdf .

Should I be using the "cable modem option"? (all options are on page 17 of manual). If so, should I fill in the Host Name and Mac address fields in, or leave them blank?

Thanks alot

you should use the cable modem option, and you don't need to complete the mac address or host name fields.

You do, however, need to make sure that when you connect up the router you turn the power off to the cable modem for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on so that the router will pick up an ip address.
