NTL Broadband
I need help with a problem I'm having. Currently I am on NTL broadband, with the television, internet and phone package, and I want to know if its possible to share my internet connection with an newly purchased wireless laptop.
Right now my desktop computer connects to the internet by way of a wired connection and that's all fine, but I was wondering how would I go about making it so that I can share my internet connection with a laptop wirelessly? My desktop computer connects from the wall socket with an ethernet cable straight to a USB port on the back of my computer by using this product: http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=v...&scid=&pid=262 What would be the best way of making it so my laptop can connect wirelessly? Thanks |
Re: NTL Broadband
Get a DSL wireless router, not expensive at all these days and will help protect your connection.

Re: NTL Broadband
Don't get a DSL router, that would be useless since NTL broadband is delivered over cable. You'll need an ethernet router, not an adsl router., a very popular and feature packed ether router is the Linksys WRT54GS which has a built in access point so your devices can communicate with it wirelessly. It's very easy to set up and has a good wireless range because of the dual antennas.

Re: NTL Broadband
That's the older 802.11b standard model, basically a slower wireless connection.
You want the Wireless-G (802.11g) model as in the link above... |
