RECOMENDATIONS: Best online photo album

I'm off to Seattle next month and I'll have access to the net so I thought rather than stop taking photos when my 512Mb memory card fills up I'd upload my photos to an online photo album.
Our families can also take a look at what we're up to over there too.

I've been wondering what the best site to use is. I'm not looking for anything too flashy, just somewhere to put the photos and a few messages. Won't want to spend that much time online but I'd like it to look something when it's up and running.

I'd use some web space of my own but don't really want to spend ages making pages in software and uploading them.

Anyone got any recommendations? Example of your own albums would be good too. :D

I use Flickr, the main drawback being the 20MB per month bandwidth limit on the free account, but uploading is easy & it provides an RSS feed, as well.

If you can stand the banality, my piccies are here :)

Looks like what I'm looking for but the cost is a bit off putting. Was hoping for a free on (being the Scrooge that I am) :D

Do you have a gmail account? If you do why not use it to store some of your piccy's?Until you get back home and can download them onto your PC.

I was hoping that my family could take a look at them while we're away so they can see what we're upto - I could use a combination of Gmail for storage of the original and Blogger for displaying them.

thankyou :)

It won't be me doing the tiling, it would mean buying a combined laser guided tile cutter & level meter, so I'll pay someone who knows what they are doing, instead :D

- back on topic, I am thinking about paying for a 'pro' account, on Flickr, if I continue to use it, $25 per year, isn't too bad, ongoing, but I can see why Shaun wouldn't want to lash that out, just for a couple of weeks holiday pics.

btw, @Shaun, please post a link if you do get summat sorted, Mrs Gaz & I loved Seattle the short time we were there & would appreciate some nostalgia, Pike Place Market is a must visit and remember to put a lit fag in the hand of the Jimi Hendrix statue :tu:

It was quite amazing, for us, we had an itinerary which included a short 'layover' in Seattle, where we joined our cruise to Alaska, a couple of years ago. On the day we were there, there was some kind of city festival going on, and there were life size sandcastles being built, live bands & other artists on the street corners, plus the normal restaurants, the market, etc, all really 'buzzing' with life.:)

I envy you your chance to dip deeper into that buzz ;)

We're really lucky, Jay's Aunty and Uncle live there so we're off to stay with them for two weeks. Jenny has loads planned by the sounds of it, and to be honest I just can't wait. Not looking forward to the lack of trains and other mass transit though, may make it difficult to explore the area without a car :disturbd:

I've got some photos that I took when we went to London with Jenny last October - I've just uploaded them to the Yahoo photos site (was trying it out for when we go over there). You can take a look at them here

Looks like Yahoo could be the winner with unlimited storage and 2GB bandwith a month. :tu: Only issue is the site shrinks them so I'll still need to upload them to my gmail account before I wipe them from my memory card. :td:

yup it is the 'bandwidth' which is important - and you do save them on a CD or DVD, as well, of course ;)
