Charged 4 periods for 3 way calling I never requested?

Seems NTL have been charging my mother (pensioner) for 3 way calling since her April bill, 1st of every month since then so it means she's been charged 4 times for something she's not requested. I've only just picked it up when she queried what it was.

This is what she's been charged:

02 Mar - 01 Apr 3-Way Calling £1.69
02 Apr - 01 May 3-Way Calling £1.75
02 May - 01 Jun 3-Way Calling £1.75
02 June - 01 Jul 3-Way Calling £1.75

Could anyone from NTL please help with this if I PM'd them my mothers account details?

I would Imagine that your mother may be having trouble dialling and may have inadvertantly dialled the code for 3 way dialling.

I'm sure a nice CS rep will credit these back if you explain the situation.

Have you queried it with CS?

@handyman: You mean we can misdial and unknowingly activate the service and then be charged for it :Yikes:

@Stuart C: No, I wanted to see if I could get help here first because of the 0845 charge, I didn't see why she should have to pay anymore for an NTL mistake, but if nobody can offer help here (and I'm not expecting nor demanding any, just asking) then I will call CS.

Fair enough.. It's just I was going to offer to refer it to the site contacts if you had (they won't do anything without an initial call).

Case closed!

Rung CS this morning, didn't have to wait long (2 mins) the nice lady agreed to cancel the 3-Way Calling and credit back the 4 periods we were charged.

Well done NTL :)

Case Re-opened, they haven't cancelled 3 way calling on my mothers bill, she pointed it out earlier today!

Re: Charged 4 periods for 3 way calling I never requested?

Hang on, I've just looked at the bill and noticed something called 'TW 1MB SAVING' and it has CR at the side so it's been taken OFF the bill! What the heck is this?

Doing some sums, 3 way calling has totalled £12.19 from March 2006 to August 2006 (1 charge of 1.69 and 6 @ 1.75) I got charged twice on the March 2006 bill for 3 way calling.

Now I've been credited 'TW 1MB SAVING' 3 times, two last month @ £3.87 and £4.00 , and this month @ £4.00 making £11.87 deducted from bill, NEAR the £12.19. So is this the way they credit stuff? Hasn't their credit control system got a code for 'NTL COCK UP'?

Anyone know if this looks OK? I don't want to be mistakenly credited for stuff that's not related to the 3 way calling issue then be asked for it back

Re: Charged 4 periods for 3 way calling I never requested?

it sounds like a way of adding a credit without having to raise a manual credit which are monitored. id give CS a call to remove the 3 way calling, as you'l probably keep the credit defintaly fot a year if not permenantly

Re: Charged 4 periods for 3 way calling I never requested?

I rang back, the system was slow so the lady couldn't get into my mothers account so she's going to ring back. She said the 3 way calling hadn't been taken off and she'll deal with that when the system allows her to.

The 'TW 1MB SAVING' is a discount for having all 3 services, so we get £4.00 off the bill each month! So as chrisjones stated, the initial request for 3 way calling to be removed and credited back has been ignored but they've knocked 4 quid off the bill each month.

Anyway, she did ring back and said she'd taken the 3 way calling off the bill and credited back the £12.19, so hopefully this really is case closed! But we'll wait until next months bill shall we :)
